    Record Onslaught.  After this year's Daytona 200, Kawasaki Motors took over the Florida Tri-Oval to try their hand at setting some AMA and FIM speed and distance marks.  with three of their 903cc Z-1 superbikes.  24 hours later, one of their stock machines had shattered the 24-Hour Speed and Endurance World Record.  At a 109.602 mph average.  An Kawasaki road racer Yvon DuHamel took command of a slightly modified Z-1 and circled the two and a half mile Tri-Oval at a blistering 160.288 mph. The fastest closed-course lap run by any motorcycle. Anywhere....All fired by Champion spark plugs...
